Penn Pulmonary Vascular Cell Center

Cell Resources for the study of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)

The pulmonary vascular cell center is located at the Institute of Medicine and Engineering (IME) housed in the Roy & Diana Vagelos Laboratories building of the University of Pennsylvania.

The center has five cryopreservation tanks with liquid nitrogen levels monitored by staff 365 days of the year. The facility also has cell culture laminar flow hoods to isolate and propagate the cells and incubators to manage the cell culture containers.

The center also uses a backup facility, at a separate location on the University of Pennsylvania campus, where more replicas of all the samples are stored.
